Melasma is a skin condition that causes patches and spots (usually on the face) that are darker than your natural skin tone. It is painless and not cancerous, and may go away on its own.

hormone level changes (like pregnancy)
Symptoms
Light/dark brown and/or bluish patches or freckle-like spots on the skin, which can sometimes become red or inflamed.
Treatment
Topical medications and avoiding exposure to sunlight can help melasma go away.
