Marfan Syndrome is a genetic disorder that affects connective tissue, tissues that provide support, structure, and connection for organs and other parts of the body.
Symptoms
Symptoms of Marfan Syndrome can vary greatly, but some include:
tall/slender build
long arms, legs, and fingers
flexible joints
flat feet
abnormally curved spine
extreme nearsightedness
long, narrow skull
narrow jaw
high arched palate
stretch marks on skin
problems with heart and blood vessels
problems with lungs
Treatment
There is currently no cure for Marfan Syndrome, but treatments focus on improving certain symptoms. Possible treatments include:
beta-blockers
scoliosis treatment
surgery
physical/occupational therapy
