Bloom Syndrome

Bloom Syndrome is a rare genetic disorder in which the person has short stature, develops a rash when exposed to the sun, and has an increased risk of cancer. There are fewer than 300 known cases of Bloom Syndrome.
Symptoms
Symptoms of Bloom Syndrome may appear as early as during pregnancy, and they include growth deficiencies, height that is below normal, skin lesions, fertility problems, large ears/nose, narrow head, and frequent infections in the ears and respiratory area. Along with an increased risk of cancer, people with Bloom Syndrome also have an increased risk of diabetes and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Treatment
There is currently no cure for Bloom Syndrome, and the treatments for Bloom Syndrome vary depending on the symptoms shown, such as diabetes and cancer.
