Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
#26
Carpal tunnel syndrome is a common hand condition caused by pressure on the median nerve, which is one of the major nerves in the hand. When there is irritation or compression of the median nerve, the hand can lose its sensation, and the fingers may become weak.
Symptoms
Some symptoms of carpal tunnel include pain, numbness, weakness, swelling, and burning in the hand or middle three fingers.
Treatment
Carpal tunnel can be treated by wrist splinting, medicines, surgery, hand/finger exercises, or even something as simple as using the hand less frequently.
