Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition that causes widespread muscle/tissue pain and tiredness.
The cause of fibromyalgia is still unknown, but researchers think there may be a link between fibromyalgia and repeated nerve stimulation, stress, and sleep problems.
Symptoms
Symptoms of fibromyalgia include:
chronic pain in the arms, legs, head, chest, abdomen, back, and buttocks
fatigue
headaches
trouble sleeping
anxiety
depression
trouble thinking/remembering clearly (known as fibro fog)
Treatment
There isn’t a known cure for fibromyalgia. Medications, lifestyle changes, exercise, and physical therapy are possible treatments that can help with symptoms.
